Waterford Road Tenders Program

Green Up Waterford and help us stock the Waterford Community Cupboard!  Saturday, May 2.  The Green Up Hub this year is the Waterford Transfer Station. We will be there distributing bags and collecting food for our Community Cupboard from 8 a.m. - noon on Saturday, May 2. Bags will be available on April 25 at the transfer station, or you can pick them up now at the Town Clerk’s office during office hours.  If you do Green Up before May 2, feel free to email or text me updates as you do so, and let me know of roads that really need attention. Your input will help as we send crews out on Saturday morning. Keep in mind, Waterford’s 8th-grade class is collecting returnable items to fund their class trip. Bottles may be left at the transfer station, the school, or at Coles.  Don’t forget gloves, sunblock, and tick repellent.  Thanks for keeping our beautiful state of Vermont Green.  Any questions? Please reach out.

The Waterford Road Tenders program began in the Spring of 2003, as an extension of Green Up Day.  It started with a handful of residents signing up to pick up roadside litter on a few well-traveled roads in town and has grown over the years to include more than 80% of our town’s roads.  Residents sign an agreement to pick up the roadsides assigned to them at least twice a year between April 1st and November 30th. The town provides special trash bags that can be brought to the transfer station free-of-charge when full.  If you are interested in helping keep our roadsides clean and beautiful, please contact the town clerk’s office at 748-2122 for additional information.
